DEPARTURE CLEANING CHECKLIST

Kitchen

✔️ Empty & sanitize refrigerator & freezer; inside and out
✔️ Wipe down countertops & backsplash
✔️ Clean and sanitize sinks & faucets
✔️ Wipe down appliances (clean inside microwave, clean stovetop surfaces, fridge doors)
✔️ Empty trash & replace liners
✔️ Sweep & mop floors 

⚠️  Note:  We do not reorganize inside cabinets or drawers unless a Kitchen Reset service is requested.

Bathrooms

✔️ Sanitize & scrub showers, tubs, and glass doors (clean grout lines & remove soap scum from tiles)
✔️ Clean & disinfect toilets (inside, outside, and base)
✔️ Wipe down countertops, sinks, and faucets
✔️ Clean & polish mirrors
✔️ Empty trash & replace liners
✔️ Sweep & mop floors 

Bedrooms

✔️ Strip and replace bedding (make beds with fresh linens provided by owner)
✔️ Dust and wipe furniture
✔️ Vacuum carpets or sweep/mop floors
✔️ Empty trash & replace liners 

Living Room & Common Areas

✔️ Dust and wipe furniture (tables, TV stands, shelves)
✔️ Dust & wipe down TV screens, remotes and electronic surfaces
✔️ Arrange pillows & blankets
✔️ Vacuum carpets or sweep/mop floors 

⚠️  Note: Fireplace cleaning and ash removal is not included in standard cleaning and will incur an additional fee.

Laundry (if required by the property)

✔️ Strip all used linens and towels 

✔️ Launder and remake beds with clean items 

✔️ On-Site Laundry: performed when machines are available and time permits.
⚠️ Note: Off-site laundry is offered as an add-on service when needed for efficiency or scheduling.  For off-site laundry, items will be laundered and returned prior to the next scheduled clean unless otherwise arranged. 

Backyard, Patio & Deck

✔️ Pick up any visible trash or debris (cups, wrappers, bottles, etc.) 

✔️ Tidy and reset furniture (chairs arranged, cushions fluffed or stacked) 

✔️ Light wipe-down of furniture surfaces (tables, armrests, etc.) 

✔️ Close/open umbrellas or covers as needed for staging
✔️ Inspect area for damages or safety issues and report to owner

✔️ Remove any obvious pet waste (if applicable)

⚠️  Note: Pet waste removal is not included in standard cleaning and will incur an additional fee.

BBQ & Firepit (if present)

✔️ Pick up any visible trash or debris (cups, wrappers, bottles, etc.) 

✔️ Light wipe of surfaces  

✔️ Reset covers/chairs 

⚠️  Note: Deep cleaning of grills & ash/soot removal is not included in standard service but can be added upon request.

Front Entryway

✔️ Sweep porch, steps, or welcome mat 

✔️ Remove cobwebs around doors, corners, lights  

✔️ Wipe front door handle and any visible smudges (glass, metal)
✔️ Tidy or reset welcome items (shoes basket, guest signage, etc.) 

✔️ Ensure lights are working if applicable (note burnt bulbs)

Final Touches

✔️ Sanitize high-touch areas (light switches, handles, cabinet knobs, appliance buttons, remote controls, towel racks, ect.)

✔️ Polish metal (kitchen appliances, faucets, towel racks, shower hardware, ect.)

✔️ Check for personal items left behind

✔️ Ensure all lights are functioning and replace bulbs as needed.

✔️ Check and replace batteries in remote controls and smoke detectors.
✔️ Report damages or maintenance issues

✔️ Set thermostat to seasonal setting
✔️ Lock windows/doors as needed  

Notes

⚠️ Time constraints (due to back-to-back turnovers or delayed guest checkouts) may impact the ability to complete laundry or outdoor resets fully. We will communicate any limitations clearly and prioritize guest readiness. 

⚠️ All cleans are completed with attention to detail, safety, and guest readiness in mind. If an issue arises during service, we’ll communicate promptly with the property owner or manager.
